The Last Post

It's that time.  The last post.  The final hoorah for this sad but resilient blog I have slowly cultivated into a wordy representation of my life and daily thoughts.  It has been a wonderful journey.  This blog has been my outlet, my inspiration, and also occasionally the bane of my Friday nights.  I would like to think that in this current stage of my blogging endeavor all my anonymous readers and I have a telepathic bond.  Okay, maybe that's stretching it.  I actually don't want a telepathic bond with anyone.  I take that back.  That sounds like hell. I would like to think you guys have a clue who I am. Never the less, here is a countdown of my greatest achievements this year (according to me, so this post will not include anything related to grades or religion)
Time That Remains by Three Days Grace on Grooveshark
A. I did not end up in a psychiatric ward.  There were a couple instances where I got close, but I managed to avoid the whole complete insanity thing.

B. I found some really awesome people, especially this amazing chick, this brilliant chick, and this cool chick.  These people aren't the only people who have changed my life this year, there are millions more people that have loved me and been by my side my freshman year. They've gotten me through so much and I really wouldn't be where I am today without them.

C. I joined the Debate Team.  I competed in debate and actually did okay :) I didn't mean to like it, but I fell in love with something I had previously hated.  I look forward to competing in Duo with this amazing person next year.

D. I survived my classes this year.  Yay! School is almost over and I managed to not have too many school related mental breakdowns.  Considering the whole honors and AP thing, I put this accomplishment pretty high on my list.

F.  My year was good.  I got so much better and I hope to continue to work to make myself happier. I found that weird little thing called hope this year, and I plan to keep that little guy under my wing for as long as possible.

I love you all so much and I will, after some consideration, post during the summer.  Yay, I think.  I hope you guys quite literally have the best summer ever, even if it's just spent reading in your room and watching anime (this is what my summer will mostly consist of).

Loves to you all,
Anna

The Minorly Violent Part of Me

Image Credited to this blog
I am not a violent person.  In truth, I pretty much condone all sorts of fighting or hurting people.  At all.  It's just not something I even vaguely approve of.  However, in contradiction to this, I am a second degree black belt.  While at Taekwondo, I love hitting and hurting people, which ends in me getting hurt as well.  But I love it.  The people at my studio have quite literally watched me grow up, and we are very protective and close to one another.  I consider my studio my true family, and in a way they have been the people who have raised me since 3rd grade.

Story time (I know you don't want to hear it, but just shut up and listen)-

When I started taekwondo I was this overweight little child who could barely walk across a floor without tripping over herself.  My self-esteem was entirely non-existent and I pretty much never, ever, talked. I was... wait.  Math... 8 or 9.  I think.  I may be in honors math but I still can't do simple subtraction. :P  Anyways, I was 9ish and had never really succeeded in anything.  Ever.  You get the idea right? I was pathetic with a capital P.

During my first two months of Taekwondo I met the two people who are, to this day, some of my favorite people on the face of the Earth.  Isabella and Krista.  This post on Izzy's blog gives you an idea of her personality.  Izzy and I would continue to become closer as we moved up the ranks and to this day we can still finish each other's sentences and create a rapport that will confuse 99% of the population.  Krista became my mentor and the person who would also get me through countless fears and hard times.

Flash forward about 5 years, and I am about to compete in a Taekwondo competition that may or may not end in me obtaining a state title.  My entire studio will be there competing as well, and Krista has come back from college for a weekend.  If I can manage to get through my entire form without failing epically I will consider it a miracle.  :D So much nervous.  I am competing to spar, hand and foot form, and weapons form.  I hope it goes okay, but for now I must practice my ass off.

Have a great weekend guys,
Anna

Human by Christina Perri on Grooveshark So, it's a kinda depressing song, but I love it.  So listen.

Sports. Why?!

Now this has nothing to do with anything, but I'm kinda really really nervous about this.  So... naturally I blog about it (I don't know I'm weird).

Fact 1: My town is very very athletic and health based.  Most of my friends do a high school sport or will do one in the near future.

Fact 2: Apparently for some reason colleges like team sports better than Debate, because, you know, weather or not I can hit a ball is directly related to how well I will do at your school.

Fact 3:  I kinda need to have another way to stay in shape other than Taekwondo because I have no motivation and I hate gyms.

Fact 4: I can sorta kinda run.  Not really.  I have asthma and the farthest I've ever run on flat ground (excluding trail running) is 1 mile.  Not really good a sprinting either.

Fact 5:  I played volleyball for a extended period of time, and I have been told I was kinda good, but I have A LOT of insecurities and even when someone tells me I'm good at something I never believe them.  Ever.

Fact 6:  Volleyball shorts are kinda really really short. Just a comment if you haven't seen anyone ever play volleyball.

Fact 7:  I was completely incapable of doing anything that was vaguely related to coordination until like 7th grade (this includes sitting down and walking)  I'm not even exaggerating.

Fact 8:  Doing anything vaguely physical (I'm talking sports pervert) still fills me with enough anxiety to fuel a nuclear power plant for 10 years or kill a full grown man in 5 minutes.  Don't even get me started on how much over-thinking it takes for me to get through the door of a tryout.

Fact 8 Part 2:  Every tryout I've ever been to has failed epically pretty much because I get so nervous that I can't even function.

Fact 9: Because of facts 1-3 I'm going to try out for either track or volleyball.

Fact 10:  You don't care about any of this.

Thanks guys :)
Anna
